Anyone had the dreaded Cold Engine Start Noise?

Just under 30k miles, and my car has started making the dreaded cold start engine rattle... Looks like new lifters are in order!

I may be following suit cause I am at 26, 000 now but no cold start noise .

Yes, I am having that issue also. Already talked to the dealership. With me not driving the car 2/3 weeks at a time, sometimes the noise is very loud. I have placeed a mark on the harmonic balancer to reference position before I start the car. I do realize that mark would indicate two possible lifter/firing orders though.

They couldn't reproduce the noise at the dealership last week, because it was too warm down here... so, they are going to check it out again when my replacement exhaust arrives(was damaged when I got rear-ended). Thank God for warranties!

That is interseting that your exhaust was damaged in the wreck. Bill Harper's was also. What section are they replacing on your car? Bill's was the intermediate pipe section from past the cats to the flex joints past the IRS.

Not sure exactly, but definitely the passenger side axleback! They said it was around $1000...
