Performance Chips?

Post by toyguy5538 »

Has anyone tried one of these? I put quite a few miles on my 2011 9C1 and it seems like it would pay for itself pretty fast if the claims are true.

You are better off just setting fire to your money.

Since when does adding a resistor into your IAT sensor "fine tune the ECU thus improving your car's performance"?

The sales blurb doesn't even specify the model year car nor the size of the engine. For all we know it could be for a 91-96 series B-body or even earlier. I seem to recall the 1990 box Caprices came with the L05 available in the 9C1 package, 89 and earlier were all equipped with carbs.

Such a deal.... and just for you!

As a Cadillac field engineer back in the day, I used to put a "special jumper harness" in the air temp sensor harness on 1979 Eldorados with EFI to improve their drivability. It simply replaced the sensor input to the computer with a resistor input. It seemed to work but I'm not sure what it did to fuel economy. So it's not real new technology. Interesting discussion, though. Thanks for everyone's input.
