Ok so here's the skinny on the engine so far, I tore it down to plug the bypass valve in the oil pan firstly, then I ordered the rivits to block the DOD oil passages as well as a new melling 296 I think is the part number. I figured I'd pull a couple caps and have a look at bearings while I was under the car. This is when I found cylinders 1 and 2 rod bearings spun. Cylinder 1 spun inside the rod and overlapped about 2/3 and were welded together so pulled the rest of the engine out last night for a crank and rods. I'm thinking bearings, new stock crank and at least 2 new rods. Any thoughts? Thank you. Joe
