Oil Cooler Delete kit

Post by lacamaro »

Scoured the web and found this nifty website. http://www.improvedracing.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In particular is the Camaro oil cooler delete kit. I opted out of their block off plate as it was not "flat".
Comes with the block plug, coolant block off cap, and band. The plug comes with teflon tape already applied but I added my own liquid teflon as well, and it requires a 17mm hex head to snug tightly to block.
I bought a flat oil pan block off and oil temp sensor, drilled n tapped block off accordingly to match one of the holes.

I know the pics are huge... just ignore please.
Awesome and a quick delete for about $30!!

Thanks for the link. Did you also have to change one of the radiator hoses?

I remember seeing a video going around where a guy did something similar to this (adding a sensor to the block off plate). It ended up blowing his engine because he basically blocked off oil to parts of his engine. You got yours off center that seems better think he had his right in the center.

OP , You ever remember seeing that vid?

lacamaro,
Thank you! It makes it easier to visualize when you can see the whole thing. Great find and thanks for sharing. I had an old 98 B4C Camaro that I added the oil temp send in the same place.

Maurice
