That is just my particular instance though. I agree a new pulley shouldn't wobble but I believe the GM publication states that it may appear that the pulley is wobbling even though it's in "spec"
I remember thinking to myself right after I put the new pulley on wow that looks great. Then I check it like a week later and it looks wobbly again. Rechecked the bolt and it was good. I did not use the bolt to pull the new one on either, the $20 tool from amazon works fine.

Re: Harmonic Balancer Replaced, Still Has some play
Finally ordered a replacement and the right tools. I took a gamble and got a summit racing balancer for ls2 applications. If the fitment isn't right i'll just return it but I didn't want to buy another dayco and the price of this one (189) was dang good for an sfi rated balancerd. The only thing between that was the dayco one for 220 and then an ati one for about 400$. I'll keep things posted here just to let you guys know what's up!

Is Steel, I got it from summit racing.CrashTestDummy wrote:That's purdy! Is it steel or aluminum? Have a part number for that new unit?

It's an 8 rib front (i just made sure the 6 rib belt was on the front 6 ribs), 4 rib accessory, our car wasn't listed under fitments but the engine is so i took a gamble. It's probably the cheapest sfi rated balancer out there too (at least that i could find). It's got a slot for a key too if you want to pin your crank or have an aftermarket one which is nice for future upgrades. Not that I have the money for that lol!
