sadly no updates to report. Im hung up at the cash for the tune. New house ended up need a little extra and im still recovering from that. Im still really shooting for this summer. A huge lumpy cam would be a different kind of power for me so im excited to get the car done and drive it. Hoping to build a nice intake while the car is apart as well

I'm pulling the trigger on a cam and DOD delete soon, but I would love to know how drivability on the stock stall is with a cam similar to these specs. I dont want to get too into the car, as this is "supposed" to be my daily, not another project.

hahahah I know the pain. Thats one of the many compounding reasons this hasnt been installed yet. I did a lot of reading on driveability on stock stahl cars. Things that came up the most were wanting to push through the brakes at stop lights because of the raised idle. (i dont for see that really being an issue on our cars, but im prepared to put the car in neutral at stop lights), the other thing im sure the car is gonna be a little lame aound town and under 3k rpms.

I might make it to the track once a year if that so im not worried about launching the car. Im more concerned about important things like will i still be able to do a burn out; whether it be a brake stand or just mashing the gas.

This is new territory for me. I have always had Rwd turbo 4 cylinders, or german super charged v-8 muscle.

I was looking at this Tick Performance cam (link below) but I'm also a sucker for sound. Since this wont be a "max effort" build, I just want something with a lopey idle, ~400rwhp, and decent looks able to haul the family. No one seems to have a video of this cam, and they don't advertise how the idle should be (i.e. smooth, lopey,choppy, etc.).

http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-per ... 9-engines/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just pulled the trigger on a TSP stage 1 cam 225/230 .629"/.615" 112lsa. It's more power over the full curve and make like ~30 peak to peak gains. Much fatter power band, though. Matching with with TSP dual .660" springs and all new lifters, etc. Staying with a stock stall, I may do exhaust later. Have you been able to manage the install yet?

No I havent and it doesnt look like its gonna happen this summer. Im chuck full of excuses at the moment too, but pretty much life happened, and my soon to be fiance wont move in till my house is finished so thats soaking up all of my fun money... (Guess even i have to grow up sooner or later..)

I hear you. I had a hell of a time getting the new valve springs on the heads, so I strongly recommend buying the LS specific tool if you are doing it yourself. I have it 80% done, but somehow managed to lose one of the spring retainers. Luckily, the guys at TSP were absolutely awesome and mailed me another. I had to go out of town om business until later in the week anyway, so its not stopping me. I'll try to get a video up once the install is done.

Where did it make 434, and was that with open exhaust? Can you post the dyno sheet?
