Brandon, you were in Dallas and did not look me up?... No worries, all good.

I have had a few Dallas cars and a Bronco, but I got lucky most of the time with good ones. If anything that Impala will be a good beater car, nothing different over what it was when in server, LOL.

As for my Caprice has about 37k miles and would like to do the cam and AFM delete, but I do not want to do that while still under warranty. Be nice to get rid of that garbage, but I am guessing it would void the remaining power train warranty of the whole car. Unless I am mistaken, so I would have to wait a while to do this.

Yeah, it was a quick turnaround all in the same day. The Impala served its purpose, and will be going to a new home as soon as possible!

It's a shame you have keep crap parts, because installing ones that work might void a warranty. ;) If you did AFM delete (and didn't put in too noticeable of a cam), you'd likely never have a problem with the drivetrain warranty, unless you had an internal engine problem that caused the dealer to go into the engine. Also, as stated, you'd only possibly have a problem with the engine part of the warranty, not the transmission or rear end.

It's actually a Howards cam, p/n 196765-12. My builder/tuner had one on the shelf, and he'd used it before in other G8s with success. I originally thought I wanted a milder cam in lift/duration, but I did want a tight (112-114) LSA to keep the torque down low...and have that rumpity-rump idle. I gave it a shot, and so far am really happy with it. It IS fairly aggressive, but not annoyingly so...and I like the looks it gets at idle. :D
