6.0 oil pan removal on a 2014 9c1?

Post by Koz71 » Thu Jan 05, 2023 10:53 am

Planning to replace oil pan gasket and oil pickup tube O-ring. Can the pan be removed on a 2014 6.0 with that crazy electric power steering jammed right in front of the oil pan? Can barely see the front 2 oil pan bolts that go into the timing cover… I have read that engine needs to be jacked up, but does that allow access to those front 2 pan bolts? Thanks for any help…😎

Yes you can drop pan with motor in place. I removed the engine mounts, jacked up the engine, put a couple sockets in the motor mounts to space the engine off the frame, and then you will have enough clearance. I got to the 2 front bolts from the front of the motor from the top. I think I used a wratching wrench but don't quote me. Not 100% on that. I also had the crank pulley off as I was doing a cam change.
