Reduced engine power

Post by spina74 »

I have a 14 caprice with a 6.2 swap. I had to put a another pcm in it since the last owner kept the original one when he sold me the roller. I did a write entire on the pcm with an 14 caprice tune. Im running into an issue where im going into reduced engine power without a CEL. When I scan the computer Im getting two U100 codes for loss of communication with the pcm, a p0315 code for the crank relearn and a blank c0242 code. I’m kinda out of ideas and I’d hate to bring it to Chevy as they’ll probably give me grief above messing with it with the DOD delete and the rear o2s being tuned out.

Do you have the actual U codes? It's possible that there is a communication issue and is doing the REP for safety.

And that C0242 is also another indication of what may be going on. The EBCM may be defective and throwing garbage into the CANBUS. Is your ABS/Traction Control light on? Try disconnecting it to see if it improves and check the wiring.

|C0242 code possible causes

Faulty Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)
EBCM Harness is open or shorted
EBCM Circuit poor electrical connection
Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
2011 Caprice PPV, former RCMP test vehicle, never put into service
