LED Trunk Warning Lights

Post by klevrgrafix »

Looking for a set of the round LED warning lights that I've seen mounted in the trunks of some of the PPVs - I think this may have been a factory option. I thought maybe possibly someone that didn't have the need for them would have removed them and would want to get rid of them at a decent price.

Thanks!

I don't have any, but what you are looking for are the T53 option lamps. May help you in your search.

They are LED warning lamps that are mounted to the bottom side of the trunk lid. They come on when you open the trunk to warn motorist since the trunk will block most of any lights that may be mounted on the roof. Since they are a factory option you should be able to purchase them through a GM dealer. The B body caprices had a similar option using two red lights but they were incandescent. My 94 has them.

I converted my set out from red & blue to two ambers using different flash patterns. I think I still have my lights in a box in the garage, but it's the lights only - no brackets or wiring as I reused everything else. If this would work for you PM me and we can dicker.

Thanks

I believe this is the stock GM setup. Note the round lights on the inside of the trunk lid (not activated in this pic):

And this is an aftermarket setup:

Yep, those are them! :) And thanks for the information, folks! Hoping to find a used set, but I'll keep the dealer option in mind - Has anyone ever happened to check with a dealer for an approximate cost?

Those are just Code 3 flush mount LEDs that are on the same power supply as all of the rest of the strobes. It can get pricey.
