Re: Stability control
You are not holding the button long enough. Press the traction control button down and do not release for at least 5 seconds. You will get a message that says Stability Control Off. Just pressing the button turns off traction control only while SC remains active. Engine must be on while doing this.

Re: Caprice vs. CVPI Video
Spent 9.5 years in a few different CVPIs. From a police officer's perspective, they are good cars built decently for their intended purpose. They are not without their problems though and despite having such a long production run with little changes and a very dated platform, Ford continued to have ...

Re: Failed motor mounts? Any experience?
Thanks for the info Gene. We only have a small number of GMT 900 Tahoes left and they wont be far off from auction so I'm not too worried about it. However I would be interested to know if the newer k2XX 2015 Tahoe PPV/2014 up Silverado's are having the same motor mount issues and if they are, is th...

Re: Fuel Mileage
My average is 18-19 MPG mixed city and highway driving. I cant complain but I have noticed since turning off the DOD I rarely ever see over 22 MPG. I think my all time best post DOD deactivation trip was San Antonio to Houston (down hill most of the way) at 23.8 MPG. Back when DOD was enabled 22-23 ...

Re: Failed motor mounts? Any experience?
So as a painfully late update on this, I did take the car into the dealer to look at the engine mount. They said that brown residue was a slight leak coming from a coolant line that attaches to the oil cooler. They replaced the cooler line under warranty but I'm skeptical that the dried brown residu...

Re: P2135 and Reduced Engine Power
Any updated information on this? How many miles were on your car. One of our agencies' 2015 Caprices is doing this exact thing. Been to the shop three times with no success.

Re: V6 Caprice
I have driven numerous vehicles with the 3.6L and I think its a very impressive power plant. In the caprice it is about on par or better than the bench mark LT1 9C1s. My Caprice has the V8 but if I had the money, I would have bought a second one with a V6 for a DD, commuter car. The dealership I bou...
