Re: just bought my 2012 Caprice PPV
Welcome. Yes the radio needs to be unlocked, though I'm not sure about the nav. Carpet for a 2012 I believe would be PN 92249768 taken from the parts index page off the main www.newcaprice.com start page Do a quick search (either here or via google: "battery removal site:www.newcaprice.com"...

Re: Lifters
I'm not Bill but I'll give my $.02
With the motor on a stand, absolutely I would do the lifters. I can't tell from your initial post, but are you putting in the LS3 cam but looking to keep the stock lifters?
As for order, you can program AFM off prior to swapping the hard parts.

Re: Fuel smell on the right side
Not sure if you're aware if the recall has been done, but there is a fuel module replacement something or other that has a service procedure to drop the tank. Right there, if they haven't done the recall, you can save 200 bucks on them dropping it. Good luck, unfortunately can't help with the smell ...

Re: Caprice vs. CVPI Video
Oh jeez good point
I'm seeing a *few* popping up in junkyards when searching for certain body parts, but not a ton.
That still strikes me as insane that there are so few in Canada...

Re: Caprice vs. CVPI Video
I have both, CVPI came first for me, put 40k miles on it and sitting at 165k. Yes it's a dinosaur and relatively unchanged since 99, but for some reason old man car or not, it's just very relaxing and enjoyable to drive. Caprice came because I had to sell my Mustang since 2 children in the back seat...

Re: G8 Xforce headers?
As stated, I don't believe it will clear the oil cooler. If you delete the cooler, I can't see why they wouldn't fit. G8 headers that will clear the oil cooler I believe would only be Kooks midlengths or similarly setup headers. IF you want to spend the $ I am sure you can get some fitment specific ...

Re: Another DOD delete question and problem
If you have good PSI I don't think there's anything to miss, really. For what it's worth, I believe the stock pump *IS* high(er) volume so swapping to another kind of high volume pump seems like a lateral move unless you have a lot of mileage. Which is why I changed my pump. Service records show my ...
