Re: OFFICIAL Master Production List - All Years
I missed the boat when this thread was started but now that it's been bumped, I'll chime in. 2011 534063 Silver Ice Metallic L77 9C3 Build date: 02/11 Backstory (documented in more detail on the forum here somewhere): first owner title direct from Criswell Chevrolet in MD. For those that don't know ...

Re: value in the years to come
Other dealers sold new cars to civilians, too. I know of three brand new cars that were sold to civilians in 2013 by Karl Chevrolet in Iowa. My 9C3 is one of them. Cool. Yep I agree. I know some other dealers let them slip too. In various ways. Demo cars. Cars that sat on the lot too long. Cars tha...

Re: value in the years to come
I agree with the others. Generally speaking, even though these are rare, they aren't going to be known to anybody except the enthusiast market. Most 9C1s came out of police service and are not desirable. I've been driving 9C1 cars for most of my adult life (25+ years) and while a few enthusiasts giv...

Re: Time for new tires
Adding Kumho TA91 to the list. They are 101W rated which is a closer match to the stock tire ratings. So far I have found no tires to match the stock 99 load rating. I either find 97 or 101(XL), which is interesting. I had a PM side discussion going with an ISS member. When the subject of tires came...

Re: Time for new tires
Thanks Bill. There's a good chance that I will just transfer over the original metal caps. They are still perfect, and I like the look with the stock silver hubcaps. Oddly the RockAuto picture shows metal caps. I was looking at the Schrader brand sensors as well. Getting Delco ones seems like a no-b...

Re: Time for new tires
Thanks Bill. Awesome reply as usual. I was mildly aware of the front strut issue on the 2011 versus 2012. I remember seeing the Caprices run at the MSP testing in 2010 (which influenced my desire to purchase one in 2011). And I remember talking to the GM techs. I noticed they changed the front strut...

Time for new tires
Hi all, my 2011 Caprice has original tires. Stock steel rims. I've only put 8K on the car since new. It's now 2020, and they are unsafe due to age... So... I'm looking for a set of touring tires with good performance. Road noise (or lack thereof) is important to me. I'm used to the BOF B-Bodies and ...

Re: Steering Wheel Shake
I've been quiet on here for a while. But today I jumped on here to see about any new tire recommendations... and saw this posting. Short story: Just wanted to add that I'm a "me too"... and I've had this problem since 0 miles, which may add an interesting twist on this journey. My 2011 9C3...

Re: Octane
I see MPG increases on both my B-Body cars and PPV with higher octane fuel. The timing tables shift, which is a good thing. But since my owners manual for my 2011 always said to use 87, I haven't bothered using anything higher. Perhaps I will now if it makes a difference. One other thing I thought w...

Re: Oil Change?
Yep, any synthetic will do. But it has to be DEXOS-1 compliant, green label. To make it more confusing, there is a DEXOS-1 Gen 2 spec out now that is also compliant with these cars. Not to be confused with the DEXOS-2 spec with a blue label, which is not what your want. http://www.centerforqa.com/de...
