Common problem. Just clean the drain holes that are covered by a small piece of weather stripping.

As mentioned, might be time to pull a valve cover, inspect the valve train components and see what the valves are doing at idle.

Here are some pictures of the repair I made on some 9C3/G8 shifters that I acquired. Pretty easy fix if you have a lathe, some numbered drill bits and a dial caliper. All of the shifters were broken where the roll pin goes through.

The shifting is a little slow to respond when manually shifting. I find myself bumping the rev limiter sometimes. When the shifter is in manual mode, the DOD does not activate.

If you have cylinder misfiring, you should be getting a CEL. I believe misfire detection can be turned off with HP Tuners, but I may be wrong.
