Re: Aux battery removal - weight

They are in parallel when the car is running. The positive cable circuit is opened up when the isolation relay on the aux battery bracket is de-energized. You should head a clunk in the trunk when you turn the key on.

Re: Intro, my new PPV has a blown motor :( w PICS

That damage did not “just” happen without any noise. I bought one that sounded terrible when I went to pick it up, which was stated in the auction. It decided to lock-up when I went to load it on the trailer. I asked how long it was driven make that much noise. He said it was driven across town to t...

Re: Rear end options for my V6 Caprice

The V-6 diff on 2013 has a different flange size than the same year V-8 car. I just did a V-6 swap into a V-8 chassis and that was the only part that I overlooked as being different. Don’t know if the flange can be swapped out or not. Would be best to find a friendly parts person at a GM dealer and ...

Not sure how the fuel line is run on a 2014 and up V6 car, but on the earlier models, it come out in a different location than the V8 cars. Since you are running a blower, the V6 fuel line may work for you.

Re: Hitting my breaking point - driver's seat help

I have several Caprices and all of them have a different comfort level. The worst ones are the patrol cars and most comfortable are the staff/supervisor cars. May be able to swap the foam from side to side. My wife has done 900 mile, one day trips and has not complained about the seat.

Wrong years and too far away, which my wife is much thankful for. Still have two parts cars that I need to finish dismantling.

Re: New Caprice owner from Puerto Rico

Sucks to get old, but it seems like there was an episode of Airplane Repo that was shot in Puerto Rico and there was a shot that showed the tail end of a Caprice driving down a street.

As Kevin said, don’t worry about it. Considering there is probably 20 lbs of siren speakers and 50 lbs of push bar that are no longer hanging in front of the axle, the extra block weight behind the axle should not matter.

Re: P0302 cylinder #2 misfire

Did you relieve the pressure on the gauge when you fired it up to do the running compression?

Here is a link that pretty well explains the running compression test.
