To properly diagnose this, you need to scan to get the codes out. Without that, you're just chasing your tail.

Welcome. Never heard of a cat destroying an engine like that before. Can't see how it would do that. For the BCM, maybe try reprogramming it with the proper file from TDS. Maybe it got a customized program from GM when the PD got it. Dealers can request custom programming like that. I think somebody...

Although I don't have any experience with the MDI, I do have a Tech 2 that I used as a passthrough on my '11. Using the MDI will be basically the same.
