New tuning option for our cars

For years I used Tunercat to apply tunes to OBD-1 B-body Caprices & Impala SS's. Well, I got curious the other day why they didn't offer an option for our cars and email'ed the company. Well..... it turns out that they DO offer support for the Caprice PPV. According to the company, the OBD2_53 V...

Re: TECH 2 scantool

And for people interested in the "how-to" aspect of working with the Tech 2, I found a rather comprehensive forum over at Saab Central that gives a lot of good info. on the tool and its application. You know, I really am surprised that folks haven't really got into working with our cars &a...

Commodore VF production video

Found this on Youtube, the 2014 SS's and Caprices move down the same line so I thought I'd share. Interesting video....

Re: Caprice sales figures

Well, the data is released directly from the manufacturer (General Motors), so it's only as accurate as what's presented. There's probably many factors concerning when a car is "sold" - for instance use of demo units, title status, contract & bid requirements, etc.... What still really...

Re: TPMS woes

I just checked and it's not in the 2014 owners guide. Wonder why GM removed the flag note on the pressures.... I'm guessing maybe because there's no longer a 9C3 and all of the cars are now sold exclusively for patrol duty (I.E. marked units). But it's just a guess at best....

Re: Caprice sales figures

December 2014 numbers are in, 288 units sold during the month. Weird that the number is the exact same figure as November, but I guess it can happen. Still dismal numbers at best.....

Re: TPMS woes

That's interesting on the pressures. There's a call-out in the 2011 PPV owner's manual that states the following (page 10-53): When not driving at continuous high speeds or with up to three occupants and 45 kg (100 lbs) of cargo, adjust the front and rear cold tire inflation pressure to 36 psi (250 ...

Re: TPMS woes

Well, I had a TPMS go bad on my left front last week. The symptoms were very erratic pressure readings (from zero to 99 PSI) in a few minutes over and over again. My TPMS screen finally bonged like six times and displayed "Tire Fault" and self-disabled the whole system. I did have a chance...

Re: Drive by wire poor throttle response

Actually the best person to answer this question is Chris Henry since he tunes these cars & is a forum member, I'll see if I can give him a nudge to weigh in on this topic. I know in HP Tuners that there are a number of settings (such as adjusting the Torque Management settings) which will defin...
