Re: New Member - Detroit Area

Welcome! Very nice. First time I've seen one with a full brush guard. Did they go off-roading with it or something?

Re: Hello from Indy

Welcome! And since the SS and Caprice are first cousins, the cross pollination of info would be good.

And yes, pics!

Re: PPV to G8 seat Conversion

I just paid $800CAD for a complete interior. Seats, console, steering wheel and carpet along with a few little parts. More than a pick-n-pull but these cars are on the rarer side here. The guy selling the parts bought a whole working V6 G8 to fix his V8 body. It had damage to its driver side rear do...

Re: Rear windows not working from rear doors

Maybe the PD that had it had the switches unplugged or removed the panels and never bothered to plug them back in. I think I also remember that there may have been dummy switches installed there on some years?

Re: GTO style badges 3D printed.

BTW, if you need the proper font to match the Caprice's, it Quantum Latin Semibold available here:

It's the same one as used by Pontiac.

Re: GTO style badges 3D printed.

Yep, PPV for me too if it can be done just like the GTO (silver with black background).

An idea to modify it a bit. Instead of those squares on the bottom, how about a small badge like this? Something to set it apart and show its true lineage.

Welcome! Looks nice. For the windows, there should be a loose connector that will go in the other connector with the dummy plug. Remove the dummy and plug in that other connector.

Re: New guy from Maryland.

Welcome! Even though they were the V6 variety, your info on the refitting could be useful for either engine, especially if we want to repurpose some of that wiring.

Re: Transmission Pan upgrade

Someone else had done that and from my own account, it's still not the lowest hanging piece under there so ground clearance is not an issue.
