Re: Charging system issues. Any suggestions

Yep, it happens. I had an ACDelco reman that crapped out less than a month in and replaced it with a Chinese made new one that lasted the rest of the life of the truck. Go figure.

Re: Canuck Caprice

Put some heat insulating tape on the A/C muffler can that needed to be bent out of the way for the headers. It's still close and didn't like all that extra heat being put into the system. This stuff actually has an insulating material rather than just a simple reflective tape and should help. IMG_20...

Nice work! Just for my own info, how long did it take you from start to finish?

Are you also getting it dyno tuned? I just did it and it's worth it! In fact, if you don't you might destroy your cats as I found out it was running very rich with the stock tune and headers.

Re: 2014 Caprice PPV - YouTube Project Car

Being an '11, the first year, mine has the weird programming, like the inability to turn off traction control/Stabilitrak. I too have reprogrammed the BCM and Immobilizer in my attempt to get the remote start working and did enable the dome on with the door but saw no options to enable the lock/honk...

Re: Canuck Caprice

Yep, bone stock except for the exhaust and my intake resonator delete. Would have been interesting to see the numbers with the stock exhaust, which could have been even worse, since it's so restrictive. Next thing will probably be a cam however my plate is full for this year and want to do it in a p...

Re: Charging system issues. Any suggestions

Make sure the connector on the alternator is in properly and locked in. I had a replacement alternator (on a different vehicle) that all of a sudden gave me the system not charging error. The connector worked itself out and wouldn't lock in. Had to trim a bit of the clip so it would click in.

Re: 2014 Caprice PPV - YouTube Project Car

I think that's a hard coded thing by GM in all their BCM programming for police vehicles. All GM police vehicles have all automatic horn functions disabled, including the confirmation of locked doors and the panic. It used to piss me off that it didn't work when looking for MY police car in the lot ...

Re: Canuck Caprice

Yesterday, I installed the new downstream sensor to replace the one that the shop fubared. Well, turns out I didn't notice that the other one was also f*cked with a heater circuit error. I didn't see it because of all the other codes. Today however, all those bad memories got erased (or at least put...
