Re: PPV in the Milwakee area?
I really should have waited to start this thread in a couple months. I'm pretty much just working and sleeping these days. Hopefully I'll have some free time around the end of April. I'm also getting worried that if I see one in person that I'm going to REALLY want one and spend money that I shouldn...

Re: Can bus gauges
Good point. I've got a OBDLink MX bluetooth OBD scanner and the Palmer Performance ScanXL/DashCommand software on both my laptop and cell. It's really nice. I'd still rather have real gauges though. Trying to use a tablet all the time is a pain. It's always in the way, has glare at just the wrong ti...

Re: Can bus gauges
Those are really neat. It's essentially a purpose built scangauge. That price though...ouch. $250/400. Too rich for my blood.

Re: Octane
My best is 13.60 @ 105 Very nice! Yeah, I'm really interested in E85. It's everywhere in WI. There needs to be a Dyno/Drag/Tuning forum on this site. One place to see who got what numbers with what combination of parts/mods and what tuning they did to get there. Regional Forums would be nice too. BP

Re: Can bus gauges
Those sound interesting. Who makes them? Are they expensive?

Re: Octane
Very cool! Thanks for the side-by-side pic.
Now I'm just wondering if the ECU has a seperate timing map for ethanol and if it varies based on the ethanol content.

Re: Can bus gauges
Do they plug into the OBDII port, or is there a harness you use to tap into certain wires? The nice thing is, you can modify just about everything on their gauges, so you can get a pretty custom configuration in your car. Speedhut ones plug in to the OBD port then the gauges just daisy chain to eac...

Re: PPV in the Milwakee area?
From the back, the Caprice looks VERY much like the Impalas that some jurisdictions use. You have to carefully-read the name plate on the deck lid. From the front, there's no question. You know, that's probably it. A former roommate used to have an Impala and WOW do they look identical from the bac...

Can bus gauges
I'm still a long ways off from getting a PPV but I came across these cool CAN bus gauges made by speedhut. Has anyone here tried something like this? No need to plumb/wire extra sensors. But on the flip side, you may be reading a faulty stock sensor. Also, I wonder how responsive that they are and i...
