Re: Grille
Are you using the 3M metal body tape on the bumper in that picture? I was thinking of doing that and then covering it with some gloss white sign vinyl as a temporary fix. It doesn't look like it wants to sit flat though so I may need to rethink that. I saw this prepainted aluminium crash tape. It lo...

Re: Hvac controls and aftermarket radio
Are the 2011-2013 Caprice HVAC codes somewhat similar to the codes in the GMLan bible? Couldn't a corrected GMLan bible be made? What is the main issue that is holding back G8 Designs from being able to make a digital one? What is needed besides just playing the correct messages? They seem to indica...

Re: Hvac controls and aftermarket radio
This just occurred to me, but I guess it should have been obvious.
The 2014+ Caprice HVAC controller is also a candidate as far as the signals go. Maybe there is someone out there with a code reader and a 2014+ that could test a few button presses to see if they match the GMLan Bible codes.

Re: Hvac controls and aftermarket radio
It does seem like there must be other people that may have looked into this, but I haven't come across it so far. I did sort of look a bit, but Google isn't what it used to be exactly. It is hard to tell without actually seeing these modules, but it looks like they fall into at least two major categ...

Re: Deep Pan Transmission Modification-Special tool
Steve asked if there is a special tool to fill the pan. I might have missed if anyone posted a reply. The tool is the Kent Moore Tool Dt-47784 Transmission Fluid Fill Pan Adapter. Wow! Is it really $60? It just seems to be a plug with a hole in it. I would expect it to have a fill and a drain passag...

Re: Deep Pan Transmission Modification
The pictures on the G8 board of the vent are really helpful. I really did Google it, but I sure didn't find that thread. That is really helpful. Mine is definitely not attached to the cylinder head and this is in the location that it might fall to. I am pretty sure that it is an black octagonal vent...

Re: Hvac controls and aftermarket radio
What is an example of a car that has a separate digital HVAC controller? I would guess there is a chance that they output the correct messages or could be translated. I saw that some Subarus have a case where a non-integrated HVAC controller was available just like this. It is my understanding that ...

Re: 13 Caprice Rear Speakers
I have a 2013 9C1. I can just barely hear the rear speakers with the speakers exposed. I also expected 2 ohm speakers on the front based on what I read about the Holden IQ system. Mine were labeled 4 ohm so I am unsure of what I missed there. I have read that the earlier radios have rear outputs and...

Re: Deep Pan Transmission Modification
I discovered my transmission is leaking. I am pretty sure it is leaking from the pan gasket since I think it may have just been serviced at 100k. It could be something else, but I couldn't see anything obvious and the converter appeared dry. The cooler line fittings were also dry. I liked the idea o...

Newly acquired 2013 with some questions
I recently bought a 2013 9C1 with the L77 with just over 100k. I have been trying to read through most of the topics, but I have a handful of questions that I can't find exact answers to. 1. I sort of like the aluminum center console because to the t-slot look and possible mounting options. Mine is ...
