Re: Left steering control roller

Probably just need a new button/wheel. Switch contact can wear out.

Re: FuzzKill's LS3/6MT Caprice

Going to the track tomorrow, we'll see how she does! Should be good weather. Cool out but not too cold. Should be low 60*s

Re: Book time on V8 motor swap ? anyone done it?

Yeah I didn't track my time when I switched mine, and it really wouldn't be applicable if I did considering everything else I did at the same time

Re: Book time on V8 motor swap ? anyone done it?

G8 is 12.9 complete or 14.7 w/ transfer of parts. PPV should be the same but my shop data is out of date.

Could do it faster, but probably about right if you are taking your time or are not using a lift. Supposed to come out the bottom but you can take it out the top as well from what I have heard.

Re: Aluminum rear knuckles

My rear uppers on my 13 are aluminum. I was going to replace them but it turns out the noise I heard was a bolt not torqued correctly on the spherical bushing.

When I looked up replacements, some aftermarket arms were steel, some were aluminum.

Make it a little more south and maybe I can make it. When did you guys set up the meet? I didn't see anything about it.

Re: Motor and trans compatability

Effectively, yes. The 14+ have electric power steering so the accessory drive is different as there is no PS pump. There are probably other minor changes as well but the assemblies themselves should interchange.

Re: Spark plug torque specs?

I know some plugs have a crush washer on them, so when reusing them you wouldn't need to crush the washer again since it would be set already. But we don't use that style plug, ours have a tapered seat and no washer so I'm not sure.

Re: FuzzKill's LS3/6MT Caprice

Finally get to see some numbers! Had the car dyno tuned at Redline Motorsports in FL and I am impressed! I was going to be happy with anything over 400whp, but realistically expecting 420-430whp. Car put down 464whp and 432ft/lbs after the tune! Nice flat torque curve with peak torque from 4500 all ...
