I did just a little more casual research and it turns out in that department all the road patrol guys got Impalas and the detectives all had Caprices. So, yeah they went out of their way to spec out as nice of a car as they could. I'm betting the 2012 and 2013 cars were 9C3's. EDIT - found the 2012...
