Re: Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) to help w Lifter 'tick' on startup?

I am not a fan of oil additives. I do like high mileage oil. I use Mobil1 high mileage in all my vehicles over 75k with a ACDelco or Wix filter. I have heard that the 'high mileage' oil could swell gaskets and actually cause problems. How long have you been using the high mileage oil and what has y...

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) to help w Lifter 'tick' on startup?

I can't view the video. It says google redirected me too many times. When you did your DOD delete what cam did you use? Joe Joe, Sorry the video from my Google drive doesn't work. I'm not a tech savvy guy. I have loaded it to You Tube and I'm going to post the link below I didn't delete the DOD. I ...

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) to help w Lifter 'tick' on startup?

I'm 58 years old, and been a mechanic since I was a teenager. I have never, not once in my life, ever seen MMO cure an audible engine noise. If it's a slight lifter noise, and it goes away once it's warmed up, I'd probably not worry about it. LS engines can be a little noisy. I own 3 of them and th...

Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) to help w Lifter 'tick' on startup?

Hey guys! Has anyone on here tried adding Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) to their engine oil to see if it would help with a lifter ticking sound? My 2014 PPV 6.0L L77 has the DOD disabled and it runs very well at 144K miles. However, on startup each day the engine has a slight noise that sounds like it ma...

Re: 90psi Oil pressure??

thats the DOD connector Can you disconnect this connector that was identified (top picture in #4 post) and the DOD be 'disabled'? As in, like the same manner as disconnecting the connector to the sensor on the power brake booster (thanks Mooseman!), or using a Range device on the OBD2 port? If so, ...

Re: Parts interchange / compatibility list for G8, SS, & PPV?

Markf1971, It might help to keep in mind that the 11-13 PPV's are of a VE/WM architecture and the 14-17's are VF/WN architecture. This will help to match parts. There is also a Zeta chassis and Alpha Chassis that were used for the early model Camaros. The Zeta chassis was also under the G8's. Some ...

Parts interchange / compatibility list for G8, SS, & PPV?

Hey, I have found a lot of really great information on this forum. I found a list of part numbers that might really be handy for me in the future. I want to ask if anyone has compiled a list of parts by description or numbers, that will interchange with the PPV? In other words what all G8 parts will...

Re: G8 rear seats & trim transplant to 2014 PPV?

What trim pieces are you referring to? The G8 seats are 100% bolt in, plug & play. Have a set in my 2015. Eric The left side is part number 92172488. GM calls it a "lock pillar trim". There is one for sale on eBay described as "Left Rear C Pillar Panel Trim Cover". Evidently...

G8 rear seats & trim transplant to 2014 PPV?

I've read that the rear G8 seats will bolt right in to my 2014 PPV, but the trim pieces at each end appear to need some cutting to fit my PPV. The car had the 'perp' seats when I got it. Any advice or helpful hints about what to do with the trim pieces on each end of the upright portion of the rear ...
