Re: Another New Caprice Owner
Welcome!! Nice ride. Not everybody's idea of a solution, but I 'filled the holes' by reinstalling the antennas that were removed. They last a LOT longer than the plastic plugs, and you don't have to visit a body shop. Otherwise, it's the plastic plugs, or body shop for weld and paint. https://media....

Re: Tire Pressure System Fault
Yeah, I didn't want to disturb the plug at the harness end, so opted to NOT do that. And yes, I know about being careful about avoiding the wrong wire end when testing things. That can be 'fun', especially when working on 110/240V circuits. This guy was actually put in as our team lead, so was 'Joe,...

Re: Tire Pressure System Fault
I just replaced a rear one. The ABS fault light has been coming on for a day or two and then going away for a couple days. Hooked the scan tool and I was not getting a MPH signal from one rear sensor intermittently, so I replaced it with a cheapy from eBay. Seems like the OEM’s are only good for ab...

Re: Tire Pressure System Fault
Had the same two issues as you. Now they’re fixed. For the TPMS, I didn’t want to spend the $$ on the relearn tool, so I attempted the manual re-learn procedure to figure out which sensor was the fault…which turned out to be kinda pointless because when I got to the RF tire, the test couldn’t compl...

Re: Where is everyone?
I'm here, too! Just been working on other projects for a while. Currently sitting in an RV park in Kerrville, Texas after driving our vintage motorhome here to watch the solar eclipse. Most of the first quarter was spent knocking out projects on the bus to make it comfy and roadworthy for this trip....

Re: AM General/VPG MV-1 differential
I've seen a couple of those in my neighborhood. Yes, they're quite ugly, and not even in a utilitarian kind of way.s/c'd cav wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 11:19 am that sounds like a ford powered custom vehicle , really fugly looking

Re: Tire Pressure System Fault
Still slacking on deeper dive on this. Been working on the bus to get it ready for a short trip in March. Discovered the radiator on the generator seeping some, so yanked it to take it to a shop for repairs. Scope creep because of 'while I'm there'.... Still posting the ABS and Stabilitrack alerts f...

2 second 60' times is also pretty impressive with a stock converter. Nice work!!

Re: Tire Pressure System Fault
Thanks. Yes, I've already replaced one speed sensor on the left rear corner. It had a ball of rust in the hole the sensor resided in, so the sensor itself might have been okay, but I was already there, and already had a new sensor, so swapped it out. Decent weather, but COLD!! And windy!! Yes, next ...

Re: Tire Pressure System Fault
Haven't gotten back to this yet. We've either had rain coming in sideways, or mid-30-degree F temps with 20 MPH winds that I'm NOT getting out in. Had a Dr's appt today, and about 2 miles into the trip the dash lit up! Besides the pressure system fault, I got two new ones; Stabilitrack Fault and ABS...
