Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors

Since I've read through this thread a few times, it looks like they save about 3.5 lb per side. That is unsprung weight, so it is a good weight loss. The previous post was the difference in weight between the OEM calipers and used rotors vs. the Brembo calipers and new rotors. The previous poster di...

Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors

Bringing this back up, since I am about to start some vacation time, which means shop time around these parts. I checked the rotors I had in stock, and they appear to be the Camaro/Regal GS rotors for the Brembo brakes, and not replacement 9C1 rotors, as I had hoped. I checked a GM site for PP...

Re: Traction control button function

You can do donuts?!? I turned that stuff off at an autocross, but still got the throttle to slam shut when I got the car sideways, under hard braking, in a corner. The back end stepped out enough for the car to say “Oh hell no!” When I got back on the loud pedal. I crossed the finish lights, at idle...

Re: New 2013 owner.

Scott! Small world!! I actually was wondering if it was you. I mean, how many SVOs can there be in the Clear Lake area? Our SVO hasn't moved in a while, either, but that's because we're completing a multi-year restomod on it. It doesn't look ANYTHING like it used to. I am currently replacing t...

Pain to keep clean, but man does that paint look nice in the sun! Ours is PBM, and I do sigh in resignation that it'll get dirty when I have to pull it out in the rain. :(

Re: JBA Headers

The catalog listing on their website indicates they fit the G8 AND SS. It would be interesting to know if they clear the oil cooler. They don't look bad, and look like they can be bolted right up to the factory exhaust. You lose a cat, though. Without tuning, I think the O2 sensor might get angry. h...

Re: Hello from Toledo, Ohio

IIRC, there was a red hot one on deals.gov listed in the for sale section.

EDIT: Yep:

viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3694

But the sale is closed. It went for $11K and change.

Oh, and welcome!

Re: 11.68 @ 117

Need to work on that tree a bit! Nice pass. How does that converter/gear combination work on the street? Just curious. Our 96 SS has a converter and gear in it. It's kind of lazy off a light, unless you stick your foot in it, but otherwise not bad to drive. Just wondering about this combo. Th...

Re: 2012 Caprice PPV parting out

Just for giggles, what condition are the tail lights in? Might be interested in adding to the spares pile. Thanks.
