Re: HVAC Duct Assembly order

I have no solution, but the shocking bit is that you can still actually order that part! There are some silly, common parts that a no longer available for even recent models of the Caprice. Something for a G8? I'd be surprised if you actually get it.

Re: Was there a stock alloy wheel?

Got it. I think I looked at them, and their 'process' info page was rather lacking in detail. Good to know they at least don't exclude aluminum wheels as the couple of other companies I looked up. That was the concern, since you were showing aluminum wheels.

Re: Was there a stock alloy wheel?

Bill, who did you find to widen the alloy wheels? They’re kind of hard to find.

Re: Oversized Oil filter

There's an AC equivalent to that, but I don't have my part number list handy. Since lead was the biggest oil contaminate, and lead has been removed from consumer-grade gasoline for some time, you're good to go with the shorter filter. I think, though, without the 'nut' at the bottom of the filter, t...

Re: Decontenting question

As Steve mentioned, I'd be surprised they'll let that car go to a civilian. If they do, though, you can make back a fair amount of the purchase price selling off many of the LEO-specific parts, especially the light bar and laptop mount. And welcome! There are several former- and current-B-body owner...

Re: high side A/C charging port P/N?

The answer to the question of 'what size socket does it take' is 'it depends'! It depends on your point of view. The charging port itself is all 8-sided, and on the OEM charging port, it is easy to miss that when staring at the 16mm 'double' hex fitting on the extension. It just looks like you have ...

Re: Caprice SS badging

Sadly, Crazy Paul is no longer in this business. I believe he had to stop due to health issues, and the last time I tried to get to his site that had information, the web page was not found. :-(

I hope the best for Paul, wherever he is. He was an awesome guy, and great supporter of the car hobby.

Re: Brembo front calipers using 345mm PPV rotors

The other caliper also hit the door. That order included a replacement set of bolts. Now on to the hoses. Goodridge, or Techna-fit, Goodridge, or Techna-fit? Decisions, decisions.....
