Re: Z28 Headers on a PPV

Note that factory manifolds can support a fair amount of HP/Torque. If you're staying with shorties, you might as well stay with the factory manifolds. The real restriction in the system is in the inlet to the front cat, which can be remedied with their replacement of aftermarket units.

Re: Surges ?

The system on the Caprices only holds 24oz, which is only 2 cans. If you system is low, they will probably only recover 1 pound if they are lucky and it might be safe to say they would not even hook it up to a recovery machine. If you have a vacuum pump and R-134 gauges, it is an easy job. The Delc...

Re: Surges ?

Thank you, David. I'll have to go have a second look. I may hand this task over to a shop that can recover the freon, since I don't have that apparatus. But I'll go over the system with my sniffer first, to make certain that's where the issue resides.

Re: Surges ?

Thank you sir! Would that explain the surging if temp sensor is going kaput? Guess I could see computer saying coolant is too cold and boosting idle... I will let them know about hi-side. Thanks again I would guess that when the temp sensor went full cold, the ECU would 'think' you've just started ...

Re: This doesn’t look right (after new struts)

Probably not. The BC coil-overs were second-hand, and the replacement strut mount kit to replace the bearings that exploded when I took the spring compressors off the assembly. I'm certain I used a combination of parts from both kits, what I got from the PO with the struts and the bushing kit I got ...

It's assembled according to all the diagrams I could find.

Re: This doesn’t look right (after new struts)

I do occasionally get a familiar pop in the front suspension going over good bumps, but it IS less than before. I believe I used the image in that GM parts page. I also believe it looks a lot like it did before I installed the coil-overs, too. I have autocrossed this car a couple of times, and can c...

Re: This doesn’t look right (after new struts)

Just for grins, I went out and got some crappy cell phone pictures of our current setup. BC Coil overs using factory replacement gearings and the new bushings that came with them. They've been in at least a year now. Side view, no flash: https://media.fotki.com/2v2ERArpVxJDYiP.jpg Side view with fla...

Re: P0157 trouble code help?

Found out that there is a reader that will do more than just ECM reads. It’s called Blue Driver. Got the sensor in today, and hooked it up. Seems I have a Left Rear speed sensor error. I’llget A replacement this weekend, and see what happens with that.

C0045 was the error code.

Welcome! That one looks fairly clean. I understand about the other projects! I have a few of my own.
