Re: Leaking rear main seal

The oil cooler is ahead of and slightly above your oil filter. It is kind of diamond shaped, sandwiched aluminum block. It circulates engine coolant through it, to cool the oil. There are no oil lines leaving it. But, they have been known to possibly fail.

Re: Steering wandering at highway speeds

Mike,
My apologies, I just remembered that your car is a 2014. The front suspension design changed in 2014. The Monroe struts are $97 and the ACDelcos are $150 ish

Re: Steering wandering at highway speeds

Rock auto has Monroe struts for $88 and AC Delcos for $99. While you have it apart, depending on your budget, maybe consider different springs, if you were thinking of lowering it... As far as the endlinks and such, the assemblies are apart, and the labor would be the same to put the old ones back o...

Walt,
Our stock converter and the aftermarket converters will have the ability to lock up at cruising speeds to avoid the slipping. Just make sure that your tuner addresses the new higher stall converter and adjusts for the new stall speeds. You gotta love modern technology!

I would personally get it to a reputable alignment shop and have them do complete inspection, front and back. Solid safety practices are better than speculations...

Re: Just back from new camshaft tuning Question

Capeasy, If the new cam has a smaller base circle than the original cam, you would need a longer pushrod. Also, you want to have the length of the push right so that the valve stem side of the rocker arm travels directly across the center of the valve stem. The tip of the rocker will actually travel...

Re: How to determine what head unit ( missing ) would work the sirens ( still in place)?

Dave,
It is a Whelen Alpha SL, it is a remote style unit. I haven't hooked it up yet. But has a lot of options. I got just for the air horn feature. It will drive two speakers. Maybe download the install instructions to see if it is what you could use...

Re: How to determine what head unit ( missing ) would work the sirens ( still in place)?

I have a unit that is for my 2012 Impala. I believe It is a Whelen Alpha siren unit for two sirens. I can check this weekend when I am back home.
